In 1996, Helga moved to North-East Victoria, leaving her career as a professional photographer behind her. Out of this period came a series of photographs capturing family, community and country life – which in 2015 was published as a book by Five Mile Press.
Over the past 25 years, Helga has spent time in various Indigenous communities including Ngukurr, Numbulwar and Lockhart River where she has primarily focused on Indigenous artists and community life.
