Mother Country: Reflections of Australian Rural Life

A$25.00

Published 2015 by File Mile Press

In 1996, Helga moved to a farm in North-East Victoria to raise a family, leaving her career as a professional photographer behind her – or so she thought. Here she made a vegetable garden and enjoyed the everyday peace and beauty of country living. Here, she also came face to face with the harsh reality of drought and bushfire, so intrinsically a part of the Australian landscape.

Out of this period came an exquisitely beautiful series of photographs capturing family life, the natural world and community living – each image redolent with feeling.
